Welcome to Blissful Births and Breastfeeding!
I am passionate about providing support to women and their families on their birthing and breastfeeding journeys. I know how important it is to surround yourself with a positive and encouraging community while you navigate the beautiful world of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding.
If you are looking for a calm, gentle birthing and breastfeeding experience, you've come to the right place.
My Story
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 14 years. I love being a nurse and helping my patients heal when they find themselves unwell. But over the years I have found myself more and more drawn to holistic living and helping people stay "well" instead of healing them when they are sick. I believe that there is a place for medical intervention and when it's necessary, it is a huge blessing. But I also believe that our bodies are able to do incredible things without medical intervention much of the time.
I actually found HypnoBirthing when I was pregnant with my first child (11 years ago). I immediately loved the idea of it, but decided to just do the hospital birthing class because it was less expensive (if only i knew then what I know now, lol!). That birth experience was NOT what I had hoped it would be. Fast forward a few years into my wellness journey and I decided to get certified as a HypnoBirthing Practitioner. I wanted to reach as many moms as possible so they could have a positive birthing experience. In a way it was healing for me as well.
On New Years Eve I birthed my baby boy using HypnoBirthing. The birth didn't go exactly as "planned" (trust me, most births don't), but HypnoBirthing was my saving grace. I had a very long birth, but I came out of it feeling strong and energized. I didn't feel exhausted after the birth and my recovery was so much easier than with my first baby. HypnoBirthing works and I want every mom to have the opportunity to have a calm, gentle HypnoBirth.
Next came the breastfeeding... I didn't breastfeed with my first baby (because I honestly didn't know any better). From that point I spent years learning about the many benefits of breastfeeding (for mom and baby), and I was determined to breastfeed my next baby. And I have! I have exclusively breastfed my baby boy. It has been difficult at times, but it has also been a wonderful experience. The reason I didn't quit when it got difficult was because I knew where to get help when I needed it, and wasn't afraid to ask for help. I decided to do my training and become a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) so I could support other moms on their breastfeeding journeys.
I feel so blessed to be able to support other moms and families in these things I am so passionate about. Please don't hesitate to reach out and let me know how I can support you!
